Trying Grasshopper Coffee: A Perfect Blend of Mint and Chocolate

Good morning, coffee lovers! I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting coffee flavors, and my local Woodman’s Market is a fantastic resource for this. They have a great selection of sampler packs, which are perfect for trying out different roasts without committing to a large bag. Recently, I stumbled upon Berres Brothers’ Pilot Flavor Grasshopper, and as a fan of their coffee, I knew I had to give it a try.

Let’s dive into my thoughts on this intriguing blend!

Appearance

The packaging is bright and eye-catching, sporting a vibrant pink-to-yellow gradient. The Berres Brothers logo stands out clearly, while the flavor information is printed in a more standard font. Honestly, the packaging isn’t my primary concern; it’s what’s inside that counts! The pouch was also super easy to open, which is always a plus.

Aroma

The aroma of the grounds was delightful! I picked up strong notes of mint mingled with a pleasant, nutty coffee scent. Interestingly, I didn’t detect any chocolate at this stage, but I’m currently battling a bit of a sinus cold, which might be affecting my sense of smell. Still, the mint and coffee combination was promising!

Taste

I brewed my Grasshopper using my Keurig and a reusable single-cup module. I love this setup because it allows me to indulge my craving for variety without contributing to the waste of disposable pods. (No judgment here if you use them – just sharing my preference!)

During brewing, the mint scent became even more pronounced, reminding me of Thin Mint cookies! However, the brewed coffee surprised me. I didn’t taste the mint initially, but I did get a distinct chocolate flavor (sinus issues, perhaps?). After adding a touch of sweetener and letting the coffee cool slightly, the magic happened. The mint flavor finally emerged, blending beautifully with the chocolate notes. It was like a party in my mouth! A truly winning combination, in my opinion.

Final Thoughts

Berres Brothers’ Pilot Flavor Grasshopper delivers exactly what it promises. The chocolate and mint flavors, reminiscent of the classic grasshopper dessert, are perfectly balanced. Neither flavor overpowers the other, and the coffee itself still shines through. This sampler pack was definitely worth the price, and I can see myself adding this to my regular coffee rotation. If you enjoy flavored coffee and have access to Berres Brothers, I highly recommend giving this one a try. You won’t be disappointed!
