Bright Farms – Finally, Salad Greens That Are Great!

I am trying to lose weight and have incorporated eating at least one large salad each day to my diet. Because of time constraints I purchase bagged salad greens. This can be a pain in the you-know-what due to the quality and short lifespan of these greens. I can’t tell you the number of times I have purchased what look like quality greens that have begun to rot by the next day.

I recently started purchasing salad greens by Bright Farms. The greens come in a plastic container that has a perforated pull tab along the right side that allows the lid to be removed. This keeps the greens protected better than the bag varieties and can also act as a bowl for your salad which can come in handy if you’re not at home. It also makes clean up very easy.

Another nice aspect of Bright Farms is the greens are grown “locally”. Mine come from about 80 miles away. They also do not use pesticides, are non-GMO, and do not require washing before eating (another great aspect if you are away from home).

The Bright Farms website show there are twelve varieties of mixes. My favorite grocery chain carries eight of them so there is plenty to choose from. Each package contains between 2oz and 4oz of flavorful, crisp greens and fit my large salad needs perfectly. One package can easily provide greens for two entree salads or four side salads.

I have found that the shelf life for a Bright Farms salad mix is at least five days and allows me to purchase all of the mixes I need for each week on my weekly grocery shopping trip instead of every day like I had to with the bag mixes. I know a really long sentence. I have not experienced any rot or poor quality in the Bright Farms mixes.

If you love salad, or simply want a salad mix that won’t spoil by the time you get it home from the grocers, Bright Farms is the way to go. For my money, these are the best salad mixes!
