When I began to change my diet (I wanted to lose roughly a person-sized amount of weight) I needed to find a crunchy replacement for salad croutons. @MoonCheeseSnack cheese bites were just the thing. They are flavorful and crunchy. Just what I needed.

So when I happened upon @MoonCheeseSnack Crunchy Cheese Sticks at a local grocer I was excited to try them.

There were five flavors in stock and, being an impulsive individual, I grabbed one of each and headed to the checkout.

After returning home and putting everything away I chose the “Yum Inferno” flavor to sample. I love spicy foods and use how well a product lives up to the claims on the packaging is my litmus test.

I opened the bag and took a sniff. My nose was greeted by a faint sent of taco-like seasoning. Not a good sign. I tumbled a few of the cheese sticks into a dish and could see the seasoning did not evenly coat each stick. As you can see on the picture below, some of the sticks are caked with seasoning while others are almost void of it. I chose one of the less coated sticks and popped it in my mouth.

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

Yes, It was crunchy. The stick was off the crunch scale when compared with standard cheese puffs. There really is no comparison. These sticks are hands down THE crunchiest cheese snack.

Yes, It was cheesy. The stick has a very nice cheese flavor. Much better than your garden variety cheese puff.

But “Yum Inferno” it was not. For a product claiming to be “deviously drenched in spicy seasoning” and “Not for the faint of heart” to had all of the spicy punch of a run-of-the-mill Cheeto.

I chose a stick that was caked in seasoning. Maybe this one would save face. Maybe this one would live up to the “Inferno” claim.

Nope.

It tasted like an extremely crunchy, dusty, mildly taco-flavored cheese stick. Hardly the “inferno” they claim to be. Very disappointing.

At $3.99 for a 3oz bag I expected more in the way of spiciness and heat. Heck, even the usual vinegar hint of flavor on most “spicy” snacks was absent.

If you’re looking for a Keto friendly cheese snack these are good.

If you’re looking for a spicy Keto friendly snack you need to look elsewhere. I have not found any.

I do like some of the other flavors, but this is not one I would purchase again.
