Talk about a tasty brownie.

Yum!

This is, by far, one of the better brownies I have tried in my life time. And, seeing as I have survived more than half of a century, that is saying something. 

Chocolatey.

Moist.

Rich.

And did I mention yummy?!?!

I was never a big chocolate eater growing up. Yes, a child that did not like chocolate? I preferred white cake with a butter creme frosting for my birthday and would even pass when offered a chocolate chip cookie or brownie. Don’t know why, but was never a big fan of the cocoa bean.

That changed during my teenage years when I developed a fondness for the Hostess trinity of baked goods: Cupcake, Suzy Q, and Ding Dong. Ok, it was an addiction. I would put them in the freezer to harden and eat them after school. During football three-a-days I had four packed with my lunches. All of a sudden I was hooked on chocolate.

The brownie was usually left alone though. They were dry and crusty on the edges or almost undercooked in the center. Maybe they were made wrong. Who knows?

On a recent visit to @Costco there was a three pack box available so I figured what the heck.

I followed the directions closely and what turned up after baking was a pleasant surprise.

After baking, the edges were a little crisp so any worries I had about hard and dry edges were dismissed. And after allowing them to cool for about 15 minutes even that crispness had morphed into a chewy edge that provided a pleasant texture experience. 

I can handle chewy. 

Chewy is good. It stands up well when ice cream is trying to soften it up.

The brownies were uniformly moist with a very good (rich/strong) chocolate flavor. They go well with a cold glass of milk, whipped cream, cup of coffee, or scoop of ice cream (@HaagenDazs_US Vanilla).

I had to resist the urge to eat the whole pan in one sitting.

I’m an adult and make my own rules and live with the consequences.
